Ultimo dei tre concerti ..

.. . dedicati a Robert Schumann (maratona…) eseguiti in un’unica data (e ripetuti in data odierna a Ferrara) con due delle composizioni più note (e a ragione) del compositore di Zwickau dopo la stagione dedicata quasi esclusivamente al pianoforte. Composizioni bellissime che denotano la maturità raggiunta dal compositore nelle quali si mischiano, sapientemente dosati, Eusebio e Florestano. Si può discutere se una “maratona” abbia un significato musicale ma di certo è un impegno non indifferente per gli strumentisti coinvolti e che offre un panorama interessante della poetica del compositore nei confronti degli “ensembles” prima delle più impegnative prove sinfoniche. Non ho potuto partecipare a tutti i concerti e quindi recensisco solo l’ultimo. Tutti strumentisti di eccellente qualità individuali che però denunciano, nelle esecuzioni, l’assenza di quella sensibilità che deriva dall’affiatamento necessario a un quartetto e a un quintetto. Un aspetto che è emerso nel concerto anche se in parte attutito dalla presenza del pianoforte con la sua presenza totalizzante  (più accentuata sarebbe stata nell’esecuzione di brani di soli archi). Comprensibilmente vi sono state anche alcune piccole incertezze del pianoforte non tali da inficiare l’esecuzione complessiva. Insomma non un “ensemble” fuso nel senso stretto della parola ma un insieme di bravi artisti che suonano bene insieme. La cosa è risultata più evidente nel quartetto mentre il concerto per piano e archi (il quintetto) ne ha risentito meno proprio per la prevalenza del pianoforte. Un successo molto caloroso da parte di un pubblico non foltissimo (inferiore a quanto desumbile dalla pianta dei posti occupati per l’acquisto di un biglietto singolo) anche forse per la stanchezza di una giornata musicale impegnativa. Un bis: l’adagio dal quintetto di Brahms.

Così come io mi sottopongo al giudizio altrui con nome e cognome così chi vorrà avere la bontà di segnalarmi eventuali errori o imprecisioni dovrà farlo unicamente mandando un commento: a ognuno la propria responsabilità. In base alla nuova normativa chi si fosse iscritto e desidera de-iscriversi è sufficiente che mi invii un messaggio e-mail..

———————————————————————————————————————————————————————— Last of the three concerts dedicated to Robert Schumann (a marathon…) performed on a single date (and repeated today in Ferrara) with two of the most famous compositions (and rightly so) of the composer from Zwickau after his season dedicated almost exclusively to the piano. Beautiful compositions that denote the maturity reached by the composer in which Eusebio and Florestano are mixed, wisely dosed. It is debatable whether a “marathon” has a musical significance, but it is certainly a considerable commitment for the involved instrumentalists and which offers an interesting panorama of the composer’s poetics towards the “ensembles” before the most demanding symphonic partitures. I couldn’t attend all the concerts so I’m only reviewing the last one. All instrumentalists were of excellent individual quality denouncing however in the performance, the absence of that sensibility necessary for a quartet and a quintet. An aspect that emerged in the concert, even if partly muffled by the presence of the piano with its all-encompassing presence (more accentuated would have been in the execution of pieces of strings only). Understandably, there were also some small uncertainties in the piano, not such as to affect the overall performance. In short, not an “ensemble” fused in the strict sense of the word, but a set of good artists who play well together. This was more evident in the quartet, while the concerto for piano and strings (the quintet) was less affected because of the prevalence of the piano. A very warm success from a not very large audience (lower than what could be supposed from the plan of occupied seats for the purchase of a single ticket) also perhaps due to the tiredness of a demanding musical day. A single encore: the adagio from Brahms’ quintet.
