Tecnicamente  ..

… semplicemente strabiliante, decisamente sugli stessi livelli del miglior Trifonov.  Reduce dal trionfo moscovita al Čajkovskij del 2019, il ventiquattrenne francese è stato all’altezza della sua fama per quanto riguarda i funambolismi da tastiera, ad esempio nel brano di Skrjabin ma soprattutto nel brano lisztiano di chiusura, dove i tempi di esecuzione (esecuzione sempre immacolata!) – ad esempio  nelle ottave – hanno lasciato stupefatti. E anche da un punto di vista intepretativo tanto di cappello (ad esempio nella sonata di Schumann) anche se certamente è necessario un processo maturativo che “smussi” gli eccessi che certamente non mancano. Ad esempio nel bis brahmsiano è mancata la sensibilità necessaria agli aspetti intimistici del brano ma non c’è nessun dubbio che siamo in presenza di un giovane fenomeno da cui è lecito aspettarsi moltissimo. Certo sarà assai interessante vederlo all’opera con Chopin e Beethoven (tanto per fare un esempio) ma data la base tecnica non c’è alcun dubbio che i risultati non mancheranno.  Grande – ovvio – successo di pubblico e l’augurio che venga quanto prima invitato a esibirsi anche a Bologna, dove il conservatorismo imperante prende assai raramente in considerazione i giovani (ad esempio dove è finito il vincitore dello Chopin dello scorso anno?).  Molto più attento alle novità il quartetto di Milano che fra i suoi grandi meriti ha anche quello di avere eliminato i fastidiosissimmi pistolotti iniziali ai quali purtroppo è condannato senza appello il pubblico bolognese.

Tecnically simply mind-blowing, definitely on the same level of the best Trifonov.  Fresh from the Moscow triumph at Tchaikovsky’s competition in 2019, the twentyfour year old French lived up to his fame with regard to keyboard acrobatics, for example in Skryabin’s piece but above all in the closing Lisztian piece, where the execution rithm (always in immaculate performance!) – for example in the octaves – left people amazed. And also from an interpretative point of view “chapeau” (for example in Schumann’s sonata) even if it is certainly necessary a maturation process that reduces the non missing excesseses. For example, in the Brahmsian encore the necessary sensibility for the intimate aspects of the piece was missing, but there is no doubt that we are in the presence of a young phenomenon from whom it is legitimate to expect a lot. Of course it will be very interesting to see him at work with Chopin and Beethoven (just to give an example) but given the technical basis there is no doubt that the results will be excellent. Great – obvious – success of the public and the hope that he will be invited as soon as possible to perform also in Bologna, where the prevailing conservatism very rarely takes into account young people (for example where is the winner of last year Chopin’s competition?).  Much more attentive to the news is the quartetto of Milan that among its great merits also has that of having eliminated the annoying initial speaches which unfortunately Bologna public is condemned without appeal to.
